Year 9

Students entering Year 9 will be introduced to a broad academic curriculum. Subject choices will, therefore, include English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Religious Studies, ICT, PSHCE, Current Affairs and a choice of a foreign language. We believe a broad curriculum is important in Year 9. Alongside their academic subjects, Fine Arts pupils will have classes in a wide variety of creative subjects. We offer Art, Design, Photography, Textiles, Drama, Media Studies, and Music. This is excellent preparation for entering Year 10. As a result of this breadth of study, pupils will have a clear idea of their particular strengths and will be able to choose up to 10 GCSE subjects.

Our Form Tutors have designed the year to instill enthusiasm for education and a mature approach to learning. At Hampstead Fine Arts, we believe that a leaning towards the Arts and Humanities can be apparent as early as Year 9. This curriculum, therefore, can be particularly appropriate for younger learners who are already showing signs of a creative flair. We love to match our students with opportunities to try new imaginative disciplines, and consequently watch them thrive as they discover new talents.
