YOU ARE AT ::: FOUNDATION > PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography at the college offers both traditional film and digital mediums. The area is very well resourced with a professionally equipped darkroom and film and print drying facilities. Teaching areas offer access to digital photography through PC outlets, scanners and printers and Photoshop manipulation software. A lighting studio is also available for basic portraiture and still life study.

Students on the Foundation course will be introduced to the broad range of imaging opportunities through resources available at some time during their year of study.

The digital approach to photography will play a major part especially within the first term as it allows for "immediate" access to the visualisation of image ideas. Essentially, the central ethos is on Contemporary Practices in Photography both in form and content, and reflecting current issues or ideas.

Students will be encouraged throughout their year to look at the work of contemporary photographers and relate their own practice to them where appropriate.
