YOU ARE AT ::: FOUNDATION > FINE ART

Students are provided with an arena in which to explore ideas, feelings and concerns using a wide variety of media and techniques. They are encouraged to research and investigate personal and set themes through observation, experiment and documentation.

Drawing, painting and assemblage are employed; working in sketchbooks and journals, on traditional and unconventional supports of different sizes or in freestanding constructions.

Mixing of media and the use of found materials is encouraged and there is as much importance given to process as finished product.

Full use is made of London’s museums, galleries, libraries and other inspiring places. Students are expected to research through books, magazines, the internet and visiting relevant sites.

Tuition is given in the development of ideas, application of relevant techniques and skills, use of appropriate or imaginative materials and presentation and evaluation of results.
