YOU ARE AT ::: FOUNDATION > DRAWING STUDIES

Drawing feeds the creative process across the disciplines of art craft and design. In higher education interviews students will be expected to demonstrate examples of drawing ability within their portfolio of work. The course provides the student with the opportunity to experiment with the potential of many media and to develop and extend drawing and visualisation skills.

In drawing classes students are instructed in a wide range of drawing techniques using a variety of wet and dry media including pencil, charcoal, paint, mixed media, ink collage and pastels developing skills in portraiture, still life and life drawing.

Students learn to analyse shape, form, structure and proportion and to record animate and inanimate life. Students also investigate perspective and explore the visual elements of line, tone, light, colour, texture, pattern and surface.
