Portfolio Courses

Our one-year or two-term Portfolio Course provides post-A-level students with excellent technical training as well as the opportunity to develop individual creativity and experimentation.

The course prepares students for both a Foundation course at art school and admission to a degree course at university. Areas of study available include painting, drawing, printmaking, architectural study, graphics, fashion & textiles, photography, and contextual studies.

We create an individual programme for each student dependent on their interests and requirements.

Fine Arts

The Fine Art course develops skills in drawing and painting, life-drawing, sketchbooks and journal work, collage and construction, some sculptural methods, and new media.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design and Printmaking involve creating and structuring figurative and non-figurative images, using techniques such as collograph, woodcut, linocut, drypoint, monoprinting, etching, collage, stencilling, painting, drawing and some computer-aided design.

Photography

Photography introduces a broad range of imaging opportunities, including both digital and traditional film. The central emphasis is on contemporary photographic practices in form and content, reflecting current issues and ideas.

Textiles

Textiles is a multi-disciplinary course offering a range of textile design specialisms, including stitch, weave, print and mixed media. Throughout the course there is a strong emphasis on visual research for design and concept development.
