SAFER RECRUITMENT POLICY

Fine Arts College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To ensure the practice of safer recruitment, Fine Arts College follows the procedures as below.

• All job descriptions and person specifications are published on the website once the advert has been confirmed.
• Application forms published on website for prospective roles which can be downloaded then emailed to the office.
• A candidate's application will not be considered if the form is not completed and return by the closing date.
• A conditional offer of appointment will be given to the suitable candidate, subject to the following:
• Receipt of two references
• Verification of Identity
• CRB form completed and a list 99 check
• Verification of professional qualifications

Once the candidate has accepted the offer, an employment contract is written up and requested to be signed by both Principal and candidate. Then an introduction to the college policies is completed by a member of the office. (please see New Staff Member Induction Routine)

Please also refer to First Aid Guide and the Health and Safety Policy to establish Fine Arts Colleges commitment to the safeguarding of any persons who visit the premises during the recruitment procedure.

For Fine Arts College procedure of the recruitment of ex-offenders, please see the Recruitment of Ex-Offenders policy.

This policy is reviewed annually and is available for inspection by staff or parents at any time on application to the Principal.
