COLLEGE POLICIES
INTERNET POLICY
Internet Access and Use
Internet access is important for research, to support the work of staff and students and to enhance the college's business, management and administration systems.
Access to the internet provides worldwide educational resources for students and staff including museums, art galleries and libraries.
In common with other media some material available via the internet may be unsuitable for students. The college takes all reasonable precautions to ensure that users access only appropriate material. However due to the scale and nature of information available via the internet it is not possible to guarantee that unsuitable material will never appear on terminals.
Students are clearly briefed that computers are for educational purposes only and access public chat rooms or social networking facilities is forbidden.
The college allows access to students personal email accounts for educational purposes only.
The use of computers and internet without permission is expressly prohibited. Any student found accessing inappropriate material or using the internet for purposes other than educational will be disciplined and banned from using the college's computers and internet.
Publishing on the internet
The college website publishes students’ work every year. The website is used to celebrate students work, inspire current students and promote the college. All reasonable checks are made to ensure work published on the website is the authors own work.
This policy is reviewed annually and is available for inspection by staff or parents at any time on application to the Principal.
