After leaving Fine Arts College Mel went on to train at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. He has appeared in several UK TV productions including Midsomer Murders, The Vice and Red Cap as well as theatre productions including Corpus Christi at Pleasance Theatre.
Mel appeared in the film Derailed alongside Clive Owen and Jennifer Anniston and the 2002 thriller Long Time Dead.
He is due to appear alongside Winona Ryder and Kim Basinger in The Informers, a drama based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel set in 1983 Los Angeles.
