FINE ART
Examined in June 2009 and June 2010
Examination Board: EdExcel
Studying Art at A-level gives you the opportunity to express yourself visually with confidence and the facility to communicate clearly and powerfully. Students can experiment with a wide range of techniques and media including oil, acrylic, collage and different drawing and printmaking processes.
A sound knowledge of drawing is acquired through regular life and still-life classes. Sketchbooks are used for researching and developing ideas. Imaginative and self-motivated work is encouraged to build up a portfolio of coursework. Students are able to use the superb galleries and museums of the capital for research and inspiration. The art staff are also practising artists.
