An A* - C pass in GCSE Mathematics is a basic requirement for the vast majority of university courses as well as being an essential prerequisite for a wide variety of jobs. At the Fine Arts College we accordingly offer Maths as a core subject for all GCSE students and re-sit facilities for all relevant A2 students.

Our standard procedure is to enter students for the Intermediate tier which is the lowest level providing access to B and C grade passes. Where appropriate, students are entered for the Higher tier, at which A* and A grades are additionally obtainable.

All the levels of entering the GCSE course includes two Coursework projects requiring substantial individual study contributions over and above that of regular homework completion.
